Minute to Win It - Trimester 2
This Minute to Win It was as successful as trimester 1. It went great everyone loved it. Minute to Win it is a series of activities for students who have not had an ODR (Office Referral). Students entered a ticket with their name on it and turned it into participate. This trimester the students played games that were based on St. Patrick's Day. For example, one activity was the cookie stack. The person who was chosen was able to bring a partner, and together one would kneel while the other would stack cookies on their forehead. The team with the most cookies stacked received a free shirt, CARE cash, and a “Swag Bag.” 6th graders went Monday, 8th graders went Tuesday, and 7th graders went Thursday. If chosen they would go up and play an activity. The student who won would receive a “Swag Bag” filled with a bunch of goodies. For example, it would contain snacks, a water bottle, and CARE cash. If the students got “ GOT LOUD” they would receive snacks (thrown) to them for showing excitement and enthusiasm. All students cheered and were very excited, as everyone enjoyed this second trimester Minute To Win It. Many good comments came from the students and teachers. This second trimester was a success, all students and teachers had fun.
CARE Cash & Buy Back Days!
JAMS has been using Care Cash for the past few months where students get rewarded for good behavior and showing excellent actions at school to show PBIS. Once a month there is a Buy Back Day where students can use their Care Cash that they have earned to buy something from the student store. A few things you can buy are pencils, extra credit for your grade, binders, lunch with a teacher ,and many other cool things. The last buyback day was 12-17-15. There was a long line at both lunches that day. The thing that was most successful and sold out was the mile run pass. The upcoming Buy Back Day is 1-21-16.
