Principal's Message

Dear JAMS families,

It is with a very heavy heart that I announce to all of you that at the end of this month I will be leaving my position as Principal of Jane Addams Middle School. It was a very difficult decision for my family and I to make. Lawndale has been my home for the past 4 years. Throughout the 4 years I had the wonderful opportunity to serve the community at William Green Elementary and Jane Addams Middle School. The chance to work with such amazing students and parents made each day a joy.

This community is very special and I will always hold a special place in my heart for the students and parents of the Lawndale community. I have seen some of the most caring, dedicated parents help their students reach great heights in and out of the classroom. I will miss coming to this school each day to see the bright, shiny, smiling faces of the young men and women that walk through our gates each morning.

Thank you for being so kind and welcoming to me when I started at each school. The warm reception made working here enjoyable and exciting. I will miss all of the wonderful students and families at JAMS. I will forever hold memories of my time here and will take with me the relationships I have built with students and parents over my time here.

Thank you again for being so supportive of your children, this school, and this community.

Sincerely,

Jennie Wright, Principal

Sinceramente,

Jennie Wright, directora

2016 Tech Trek Scholarships

Congratulations to three 7th grade girls who were awarded a $900 scholarship each to attend a week-long science/math/technology camp at a university. The girls were nominated by their teachers and then had to apply and interview. The girls were recognized and awarded at the School Board meeting on May 17th. This opportunity is possible due to the efforts of the AAUW. Thank you!
